No! Not like in mismatched socks. We are talking about our mismatched china dinnerware plates. Do not fear. Don't freak out. We have put a lot of thought and planning into our mismatched collections. The mismatched plates include the same color palette and create a cohesive look when set on your table all together.  Actually mismatched is just stunning. A great example is the Elegant Floral Collection. A bride had asked if we had a soft elegant floral plate. And Voila! The Elegant Floral Collection was born. And she is a mismatched beauty! Clients rent the collection of mismatched plates not a specific plate. Many have come to our showroom, fallen in love with a plate, pointed to a specific plate and asked if we have 200 of that one. Mismatched doesn't work that way.  You rent the collection of mismatched plates. 

We are a specialty rental company that carries curated collections that have taken years to build. We aren't your typical table and chair rental company. (Although, once you rent a table, you will need our table settings! Just saying!) And here is how we would pack your mismatched collection. We hand pick each order by spreading out all of the plate designs in a most harmonious way first. Trust us...been doing this a long time.  We would choose a plate with an ivory background then one with a white background then ivory and so on.  This creates contrast on your table. Opposites attract, like my husband and me, but that's a story for another blog! Back to the plates, ivory next to white creates contrast which creates interest. And each plate stands alone and shines. Each table will have ten different plates and then we repeat.  These are packed in crates in the order they will be placed on the tables. Relax. We've got that covered too. We have two collections of matching white dinnerware, Linen Coupe and Scalloped Water Lily. However, if you want a little mismatchy, you could switch out the white salad plate for a salad plate from another collection like the Blue and White, the Pink depression glass or even our Flower Power.

By renting the tableware such as glassware, flatware, and dinnerware plus linens, couples are opting for minimal waste. No paper or plastic headed for the landfill.  Being kind to the earth while realizing the cost of rentals is not what you might expect. This is the best way to entertain. The clean-up is a breeze. Rentals are dropped off, picked up and washed. 

My amber and olive goblets, antique bottles, beer crate, linens, rattan wine jug, wooden stands and boards, vintage lunchbox, and the Glorious Gold collection salad/bread/appetizer plates speak the nature vibe.

Our rental inventory includes beautiful vessels, bowls, containers, crates and more. Your florist can add nature inspired grasses, plants or florals to my jars, bottles, and bowls. I can work with your caterer to provide the exact pieces they need to serve and display food using my trays, bowls, and stands.

Recently a client called to put together a surprise dinner party for his wife's 55th birthday.  He had hired a chef to come to the house and was hosting 30 guests. He knew his wife would love our blue and white plates.  He also knew the chef was doing several courses of small plates.  Rather than the client and I trying to figure out what the chef would need, I contacted the chef. He explained each course and what was being served. I was better able to supply the pieces he would need.  I set out plates, cups and bowls for each course, labeled them and sent pictures to the chef, so he could decide if these would be acceptable. They were. Everything was packed and delivered to his office.  When the surprise celebration was over, we picked up from their home and washed. Easy Peasy! Best of all, the client and chef were pleased. Most of all the birthday gal was elated! And that's what we do at Dish and Decor Vintage Rental!
