Adding some teal to your fall table may be an unexpected color for this time of year, but Wow does it make for a beautiful table setting. In the Midwest, we love our pumpkins. They come in all sorts of colors, shapes and sizes. We chose cream ones for this table scape. The big one is not perfect, but she is front and center and elevated on our cake stand. The teal against the cream pumpkins, antlers, red and gold leaves, the black and white linens and black toile plates creates quite a striking display. And the best part of this stunning table is we used what we have! The red leaves are from Janet's burning bush. Kelly took a walk and gathered gold leaves. Pumpkins, of course, were found at a local farm stand. We rent antlers. The key is to create layers, use a variety of colors and textures, and do not worry about matching everything. Imperfection adds character!
Our team would like to introduce to you our new Black Toile salad/dessert and bread & butter plates! TaDa! We have been waiting for these pretties. Available also in Fern Toile. We love this pattern, so we grounded the table with a black and white checked table runner and checked napkins to create contrast and interest. The clean lines of the Linen Coupe dinner plates are the perfect back drop for our new Black Toile salad/dessert and bread & butter plates. The retro mismatched flatware is another bit of texture to the setting. We topped off the table with our mismatched teal stemware. Our ace in the hole is our festive colored glassware. We recommend adding mismatched glassware for texture and sparkle to every table scape. The centerpiece is a collection of cream pumpkins, antlers and fall leaves down the long table. Simple yet dramatic. And the cream centerpiece sets off the teal and black and white. We just used what we had and added the rental pieces. Use what you have and create your own beautiful Friendsgiving this year.

As a dish and decor rental business we run into all kinds of interesting and clever tips from our clients and vendors. This tip we have found to be important but usually forgotten. Therefore, it is worth sharing.
When you hear First Look, you automatically think of the wedding couple. The photographer gets a shot of them as they see each other for the first time before the ceremony. It is emotional, and a photo so worth having. However, we have found that there is another First Look that is too often being overlooked and can be emotional as well.
Think about this. Typically the very first time the couple sees their beautiful reception room, it is filled with guests. The tables are already in use as the bridal party and couple make their grand entrances. At this point, couples can't see the real beauty of the room.

Add this photo to your photographer's list.
Don't forget to get your First Look photos of your beautiful reception! Set aside time for the two of you to enter your reception together with photographer in tow. Take a few minutes to soak it all in. Take a breath. Enjoy what you have created. Add to your photo list that you want photographs of you and your partner's reactions to seeing your reception room while your guests are in the cocktail hour. Let your caterer/planner know that the room is to be empty of caterers, staff and others. Typically, the colorful goblets on each table are filled with ice and water at the last possible minute, so let the staff know that those colorful goblets are to be filled before you enter. You want the room complete and perfect, so the photos capture your entire creation. Include these requests as part of your wedding plan. After all, you have spent money, energy and time putting this day together, so you deserve these photographs. We have been told that this First Look also brings a tear to the eye. Your room is magnificent. Take photos in it before it is filled and cluttered. You will be so glad you did.

How do we pack???
How do we pack our teacups and saucers, you ask?
When you hear mismatched, I hope you aren't thinking that the teacup does not match the saucer because that would be unacceptable. We coordinate, pack and label the crates with directions, so when the table is set the teacup is paired with the proper matching saucer. The mismatched part is that all the vintage teacups and saucers are different creating such an elegant and beautiful presentation.
Who doesn't have a sweet tooth? Candies, cupcakes, sorbet, ice cream, cakes, mini bundts, chocolate fountain, fondue, bars, decorated cookies, and macarons. So pretty and yummy! Treat your guests to a delicious display of sugary goodness. A creative sweet display must be pleasing to the eye, so you need height and variety. Depending on your style or theme, you may use crates or suitcases as risers. Or you may opt for cake stands, tiered stands with mint trays. When you make your appointment for a free consultation, we will actually lay out the pieces for your specific display, which I will photograph. The photo will be included with your packing list, so on your special day the set up will be stress free. You just follow the layout photo. Our cake stands can be delivered to Rockford, Chicago, Lake Geneva, and most any city in Northern Illinois.
