Looking for an elegant upscale wedding shower option? How about a tea party? Surprise your guests with a high tea complete with tea sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, sweets, and English teas.

Tea Time with Your Besties

To be honest, I wanted to do a little research on just how the Brits do teatime.

• There is High Tea, which is served after 5:30 and is supper with a pot of tea.
• Afternoon Tea, also known as Low Tea, is the high fashion afternoon tea meal I most often think of.
• And there's Cream Tea which is a pot of tea served with scones and clotted cream and jam.

It is most important that one must be sure to use loose leaf tea, and let it steep properly. Stir gently. Enjoying the moment. Take your time. I have also learned that the milk must be added before the tea to avoid changing the tea and from cracking our vintage teacups. I also know that some people prefer using tea bags. That is completely up to you. Your choice. Your tea party. 
Dress is formal attire, but no need to extend your pinkie finger. That is not a thing. 

Recipe for Clotted Cream

You will need:
3 oz. softened cream cheese
3 T. sugar
1 C. whipping cream
1. Cream the cheese, sugar together.
2. Slowly add the whipping cream until a stiff peak forms.
3. Chill before serving.

English Breakfast, Darjeeling, Earl Grey, Chamomile, and Sri Lanka Black

What to Serve on a Three-tiered Stand

​Tea sandwiches, such as cucumber sandwich, egg salad sandwich, and smoked salmon and dill sandwich,  are served on the lower tier of the three tiered stand. The middle tier is scones, breads and pastries served with clotted cream and jam. The clotted cream goes under the jam on your scone. And the top tier is for sweets, such as macarons, petit fours, and madeleines.

Tea sandwiches, also referred to as finger sandwiches, are just that...eaten with your fingers. Clotted cream and jam for your scone or biscuit can be served in our vintage glass serving pieces.

How do we pack???
How do we pack our teacups and saucers, you ask? 
When you hear mismatched, I hope you aren't thinking that the teacup does not match the saucer because that would be unacceptable. We coordinate, pack and label the crates with directions, so when the table is set the teacup is paired with the proper matching saucer. The mismatched part is that all the vintage teacups and saucers are different creating such an elegant and beautiful presentation. 

• Your table settings will also need either our Bold and Beautiful, Elegant Floral or Blue and White China dinnerware rentals plus vintage colorful glassware to round out the table settings.
• Props to create the perfect ambience, our vintage tea tins, books, suitcases and  trays will do the trick.
• Plus, you have several tea carts from which to choose.
• Don't forget the florals for the table...we rent so many different vases and vessels for your florist to fill.
