Call it what you will...couples are loving these looks. This past year, many couples have had to forego the indoor wedding for micro weddings or backyard weddings. Now they are ready to PARTY. Couples are thinking outside of the box. Many are opting for more natural and nontraditional festive celebrations. Here are a few of the trends couples are embracing.

#1 Colors of nature...this past year we have spent a lot of time outdoors.

Couples are longing for some relaxed luxury by choosing from the earthy color palette for their spring, summer or fall weddings. Pops of color amid earth tones of rust and terra cotta. Neutral colors of latte, camel, tan, and blush. Nature inspired colors of cream, sage, olive, and amber. Shades of the sky include dusty blue and amethyst. Couples are connecting with the colors found in nature. These colors lend themselves to the minimalist, boho and farm to table "feels". #2 Food experiences. A feast for the eyes and taste buds.

Focus is on the earth's bounty. An elaborate grazing station in lieu of the traditional passed appetizers is a trend this year. Charcuterie boards at each table for a minimony. Local farm produce providing downhome goodness and freshness. An olive bar. A pretzel bar. Creative sweet tables. Food trucks of all kinds. Beverage camper. Food as an experience and arranged for its beauty. Something guests will be surprised by, thoroughly enjoy and remember. Couples are serving my salad/bread plates stacked in one of my suitcases, crates or vintage metal lunchbox. Let the grazing begin! Caterers are requesting my salad/bread plates and wheat clear glass plates for grazing stations and small plates events.

#3 Party rental is eco-friendly. Environmentally conscious couples choose to RENT.

By renting the tableware such as glassware, flatware, and dinnerware plus linens, couples are opting for minimal waste. No paper or plastic headed for the landfill.  Being kind to the earth while realizing the cost of rentals is not what you might expect. This is the best way to entertain. The clean-up is a breeze. Rentals are dropped off, picked up and washed.

Let me tell you how...

Recently a client called to put together a surprise dinner party for his wife's 55th birthday.  He had hired a chef to come to the house and was hosting 30 guests. He knew his wife would love our blue and white plates.  He also knew the chef was doing several courses of small plates.  Rather than the client and I trying to figure out what the chef would need, I contacted the chef. He explained each course and what was being served. I was better able to supply the pieces he would need.  I set out plates, cups and bowls for each course, labeled them and sent pictures to the chef, so he could decide if these would be acceptable. They were. Everything was packed and delivered to his office.  When the surprise celebration was over, we picked up from their home and washed. Easy Peasy! Best of all, the client and chef were pleased. Most of all the birthday gal was elated! And that's what we do at Dish and Decor Vintage Rental!
